Whenever a new podcast guest episode goes live, I carve out time to listen to it. Because when I listen as the learner and not the host, I have a different experience.
So when I was driving to town earlier today, I listened to my recent episode with Dr Wendy Sweet. There was something she said that was still on my mind when I sat down to write this newsletter.
She spoke about our circadian rhythm needing a reset. And yes, I had to ask Aunty Google what a circadian rhythm was!
It’s our body’s internal clock that runs on a 24-hour cycle. It influences everything from when we feel most alert to when our body starts preparing for rest. Governed primarily by light and darkness, it affects our sleep-wake patterns, hormone levels, body temperature, and even cognitive performance.
In our conversation, Dr Wendy Sweet was referencing circadian rhythms in the context of menopause, how so many women find themselves wide awake at 2am or dragging their feet through the day, wondering what’s changed.
Her recommendation is to reset your rhythm. Get back in sync with the natural cues of your body and environment. Because when your hormones are shifting, so too must your habits. And it starts with understanding the rhythm that’s been guiding you all along.
It reminded me of just how much of my own energy shifted once I started working with my natural rhythm, rather than pushing through in the name of "getting it done".
And as someone who teaches systems and routines for a living, it hit me: this is the missing link for so many women in business. Especially those of us who were taught that success only comes from hustle, grind, and squeezing the most out of every day.
And that’s a belief worth reframing.
🧠 THINK
Many of us (and I’m talking GenX here) grew up believing that hustle equals success. That if you're not constantly doing, you're falling behind.
But what if that belief is exactly what’s keeping us stuck, tired, and disconnected from our own power?
Reframing this starts with recognising that rest isn’t weakness …it’s wisdom.
Rhythm isn’t rigidity … it’s resonance with how you were designed to operate.
You weren’t built to burn out. You were built to lead, create, and grow, but not at the cost of your wellbeing!
True momentum doesn’t come from pushing harder. It comes from aligning deeper with your body, your values, and the way you want to live.
💡 DO
As a Full Focus Certified Pro, one of the foundational systems I teach is built on four daily rituals that sync beautifully with your circadian rhythm:
- Morning Ritual – Start your day with purpose and peace
- Workday Startup Ritual – Transition into focused, aligned work
- Workday Shutdown Ritual – Create closure and prepare to disconnect
- Evening Ritual – Wind down to support deep rest and renewal
These aren’t rigid routines. They’re anchors that support your rhythm so you can lead your business with clarity and capacity.
🚀 HAVE
When you shift from squeezing more hours into your day to structuring your day around your natural energy, you create a more sustainable rhythm for success. You feel less reactive, more clear-headed, and in command of your time.
This kind of shift doesn’t just elevate your productivity, it becomes the foundation for your wellbeing and long-term sustainability.
When your daily rhythm is in sync with your energy, you lead with more clarity, focus, and impact.
That’s where true momentum lives.
