Feeling the Pressure? This Might Be Your Sign to Hire

I hope you had a restful Easter weekend—one where you gave yourself full permission to pause, not just “catch up.” Because the truth is, building a business shouldn’t always mean catching up. It should also mean slowing down when you need to.

I’ve been there—knowing the work needed to get done, pushing through late nights, telling myself “I’ll rest once I’m through this busy patch.” But that busy patch often just rolls into the next one, doesn’t it?

In my early days running an event management agency, I thought I had to secure the work first before I could justify hiring. It felt safer that way. But more often than not, I’d find myself under pressure, trying to keep up while scrambling to bring someone on board at the last minute.

Looking back, I realise I needed a better system—not just for getting the work done, but for recognising the signs that it was time to bring in help before I hit the wall.

If your team’s stretched, your calendar’s packed, and your gut’s whispering “you might need more hands on deck,” it’s probably time to pay attention.

Let’s explore how to make hiring a strategic decision—not a reactive one.

🧠 THINK

Hiring isn’t something you do after growth—it’s what makes sustainable growth possible. Reframe it as a proactive investment in your future, not a reactive fix for burnout.

💡 DO

Run this simple 3-part check:

  1. What’s in your pipeline? Are you booked out in the next few months?
  2. Who’s doing what? Look at your accountability chart to spot bottlenecks.
  3. When do you need help? Hiring takes time—back-plan from your busiest months.

🚀 HAVE

Hiring early gives you breathing room so you can increase capacity, deliver more smoothly, and lead with clarity—not chaos.

💬 Your Turn

Is the pressure building in your business? Hit reply and tell me where you’re feeling the stretch. I’d love to hear what’s going on—and help you plan your next confident hire.

Behind the Shift

What I'm thinking about

Lately, I’ve noticed myself zoning out in front of the TV more than usual—a sure sign that fatigue is creeping in. It’s my go-to when things get full on. Instead of pushing through, I’m pausing to ask: What’s truly essential—and what’s just a ‘should’ I’ve been carrying?

What I'm Doing

I’m doubling down on self-care and treating fatigue as information, not failure. That means honouring my energy levels, getting outside more, checking in with what I really need, and giving myself permission to let go of tasks that no longer serve where I’m headed. This isn’t just about feeling better—it’s about operating from a place of intention and clarity.

What's inspiring me

The quiet reminder that alignment creates ease. When my actions line up with my values and energy, everything flows better—my business, my mindset, my wellbeing. I’m leaning into that idea right now, and it’s helping me make clearer decisions about what stays on my plate, and what can go.
